The Rogue Artist’s Survival Guide is an undisciplined, story-centric, offbeat, and honest approach to demystify what it takes to become a full-time artist. It is designed to help you navigate the clusterfudge that is the art world. A decade ago, there was no guidebook to lead me away from the overcrowded and overly pompous art market toward success.

All creatives are cursed. It’s the subtle kind of curse. It’s the kind you might not notice until you’re 46 years old at a desk job wondering why you let the best years of your life slip away. It’s the kind that keeps you paralyzed at 18 when you know you have something special to offer the world but everyone says you are too young.

Life isnât about âfindingâ fulfillment and success – itâs about creating it. Why then has creativity been given a back seat in our culture? No longer. Creativity is a force inside every person that, when unleashed, transforms our lives and delivers vitality to everything we do. Establishing a creative practice is therefore our most valuable and urgent task – as important to our well-being as exercise or nutrition. The good news? So what is Artist Profits?
If you are ready to finally take sales of your art to the next level, learn all the little industry tricks the biggest seller use then let’s do this!
This book is absolutely not for serious fine artists trying to sell work online. It primarily caters to those who wish to sketches of famous people en mass by digital reproduction (without ANY advise on copyright violation), custom figurines, and/or any other items for EBay and specialty themed conventions. It promotes researching what’s “trending” and making cheap kick-off objects representing those themes. In fact, the author has clearly capitalized by utilizing the term “Selling Art” to promote this book(!) yet delivers very little in return. AVOID WASTING YOUR TIME HERE.

As an artist there are many things i don’t agree with in this book. There were a handful of things I found actually useful but a lot of the information was kinda bland.
I Was hoping for a wider range of art and media outlets for marketing different art mediums.
very good information book..well narrated motivated to look into the ideas mentioned .well done thank you
Lots of great info. The reading is nice, good pace, nice voice, good tempo. The writing is easy to follow and informative.
As a beginner I found this helpful. It answered many questions I had about supplies and how the different online sites work. My only complaint is that I wish there were more! I need more info on Etsy and it didn’t seem like this version was completely up to date. But still, lots of good ideas and not too much fluff. I’ll recommend to my friends who are also starting out.
This is the second time I’ve listened to this book and I really like it.
I really liked this. Lots of ways to actually get to the fastest path to cash for your art. 🙂 Thanks for making this. It’s a fast read, and even faster at 1.25x while stiil very easy to understand.
How is this “guide” still sold in September 2020?!? The audio edition came out in 2019, yet there’s not a word on facebook marketplace, not a word on instagram, not a word on youtube. Instead we are being told to create a blog on Blogger and sell art on Craigslist… Shopify is not mentioned and the best SEO advice is “be aware of your pages name”.This “guide” is a travestie which, at a the price of 6£ is not only the worst use of money I can think of but is also solely made to generate money for its author regardless of the value brought to the reader.I doubt that this worthless content ever helped any artists, even back in 1995 (where this guide belongs).
A useful guide for bigingers. Mandy artist are looking for a way to sell and to support the creative cost, I have been looking around for a long time for a online sales guide and structures. Thanks for the author to share these tips.
